More Details on Our Top Picks
Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, Pink, Medium
The Fi Series 3+ stands out for its comprehensive coverage, offering real-time nationwide GPS tracking with no range limitations, which surpasses the more localized tracking features of the GPS Tracker for Dogs and Cats with Real-Time Locator. Its inclusion of a 6-month subscription at no extra cost makes it ideal for pet owners who want hassle-free monitoring, but the need to renew the subscription afterward can be inconvenient. The waterproof, durable build is suited for active dogs, and health monitoring features add extra value. However, the higher price and subscription dependency are tradeoffs to consider. Compared to simpler trackers, the Fi focuses on advanced features, making it better suited for owners seeking a premium, all-in-one solution without boundary constraints.
Pros:- Real-time nationwide GPS tracking with no range limits
- Includes 6-month service membership at no extra cost
- Durable, waterproof design suitable for daily outdoor use
- Health and behavior monitoring features

Best for: Pet owners who want reliable nationwide tracking, health insights, and are willing to invest in a premium device with ongoing service fees.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious owners or those seeking a basic, no-subscription tracker for occasional use.
- Color:Pink

Tractive Smart Dog GPS Tracker with Virtual Fence and Vital Signs Monitoring
The Tractive Smart Dog GPS Tracker excels in offering unlimited range tracking and vital signs monitoring, making it ideal for owners who need to keep tabs on their dogs across miles, unlike the GPS Tracker for Dogs and Cats with Real-Time Locator which is more limited to certain devices or regions. Its ability to monitor heart and respiratory rates provides early health insights, but it requires a compatible collar attachment and can be more costly than basic trackers. Battery life of up to 14 days is a significant advantage, especially for active or outdoor dogs. The device is lightweight and waterproof, making it suitable for everyday wear. However, GPS signal quality can vary, and it depends on the quality of the cellular network, which may affect accuracy.
Pros:- Unlimited range real-time tracking
- Monitors vital signs for health insights
- Long battery life of up to 14 days
- Waterproof and lightweight design
Cons:- Requires compatible collar attachment
- More expensive than basic GPS trackers
- Dependent on GPS signal quality
Best for: Active, outdoor-loving owners who want continuous tracking and health monitoring without range restrictions.
Not ideal for: Owners with small dogs under 8 pounds or those looking for a simple, low-cost tracker without health features.
- Real-Time GPS Updates:Every 2-3 seconds
- Range:Unlimited
- Vital Signs Monitoring:Heart and respiratory rates
- Battery Life:Up to 14 days
- Waterproof:Yes
- Weight:Suitable for dogs over 8 pounds
Our verdict“Ideal for active owners who prioritize health monitoring and unlimited range tracking in a lightweight, waterproof device.”
GPS Tracker for Dogs and Cats with Real-Time Locator and Holder
This tracker offers seamless integration with Apple Find My, making it an attractive option for iOS users who want real-time location updates without monthly fees. Its compact, waterproof design is flexible enough to attach to collars or personal belongings, providing customizable safe zones and instant alerts—features that are less emphasized in devices like the Fi Series 3+. However, the battery life isn’t specified, and it’s limited to Apple devices, which excludes Android users. The lack of detailed activity or health monitoring means it’s best suited for basic tracking needs. This device’s simplicity and no ongoing costs make it a practical choice for Apple-centric pet owners, but less ideal for those seeking detailed health insights or Android compatibility.
Pros:- No monthly subscription fees
- Seamless integration with Apple Find My
- Waterproof and durable for outdoor use
- Compact and versatile attachment options
Cons:- Battery life not specified
- Limited to iOS devices
- No detailed health or activity data
Best for: Apple device users seeking a straightforward, no-subscription GPS tracker with reliable location alerts.
Not ideal for: Android owners or those wanting health and activity monitoring features.
- Compatibility:iOS, Apple Find My
- Waterproof Rating:IP68
- Included Accessories:Locator, keychain case, magnetic case, extra accessory
- Features:Real-time tracking, location history, customizable safe zones
- Battery Life:Not specified
Our verdict“A practical, cost-effective option for Apple users needing simple, reliable pet location tracking without ongoing fees.”
Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, Blue, Large
The Fi Series 3+ in large size is designed for bigger dogs, offering the same robust features as its pink counterpart—real-time nationwide tracking, health monitoring, and escape alerts. Its waterproof, durable build with night-visibility LEDs makes it perfect for active, outdoor lifestyles, especially when compared with the GPS Collar for Dogs, Pet Tracker which may lack such advanced AI features. The 6-month membership included ensures continuous service, but details on battery life are absent, which could impact usability during long trips. Its hefty build might be less comfortable for smaller or more delicate dogs, so it’s best suited for larger breeds that need reliable coverage and durability.
Pros:- Real-time nationwide GPS tracking
- Includes 6-month membership for GPS and cellular service
- Waterproof with night visibility LED light
- Health and AI behavior monitoring
Cons:- Requires renewal after 6 months for continued service
- Price and battery details are unspecified
- Could be bulky for smaller dogs
Best for: Owners of large, active dogs who want comprehensive GPS and health features in a tough, waterproof collar.
Not ideal for: Small dogs or owners seeking a lightweight, budget-friendly tracker without subscription services.
- Color:Blue
- Size:Large
- Battery Life:Not specified
- Waterproof Rating:IP68
- Connectivity:Cellular and GPS
- Membership Included:6 months
Our verdict“Best suited for owners of large, active dogs who need rugged, feature-rich GPS coverage and health insights.”
GPS Smart Collar for Dogs, Android Pet Tag, Waterproof, No Monthly Fee, Compatible with Google Find My
The MDTZULIK GPS Smart Collar is ideal for Android users who want a straightforward, no-cost solution to locate their pets. Its compatibility with Google Find My allows real-time tracking without ongoing subscriptions, a major advantage over the Fi Series 3+ which requires a paid membership. Its lightweight, waterproof design suits dogs of all sizes, making it versatile for outdoor adventures. However, it lacks advanced health monitoring features and doesn’t specify battery life, which could be a concern for long-term use. The device’s reliance on Google Find My means its tracking precision depends heavily on the app’s performance and GPS signal quality. This pick is perfect for owners prioritizing affordability and simplicity but less so for those seeking detailed activity insights.
Pros:- No monthly fees for real-time tracking
- Waterproof and durable
- Compatible with Google Find My for easy Android integration
- Lightweight and suitable for all dog sizes
Cons:- Limited to Android devices
- No detailed activity or health tracking

Its waterproof, lightweight design and up to 14 days of battery life make it suitable for active dogs over 8 pounds, though regular charging is needed for uninterrupted use. The virtual fences and activity alerts add layers of security, but limited info on app usability may frustrate less tech-savvy users. This pick makes the most sense for owners prioritizing health and safety alongside GPS tracking, willing to manage longer charging cycles.

- Monitors vital signs for early health detection
- Waterproof, lightweight with up to 14 days battery life
- Includes virtual fences and activity alerts

GPS Dog Tracker with Real-Time Location and No Monthly Fees
This compact, waterproof tracker makes a strong case for owners who prefer real-time GPS without ongoing costs. Unlike the Fi Series 3+ models, which include a 12-month service at purchase, this device requires no subscription, but details about its battery life are sparse, which could mean less reliability for long outdoor adventures. Its IP68 waterproof rating and lightweight design ensure durability and comfort for all dog sizes, while the included holder simplifies attachment to collars or backpacks. However, the limited information on app features or long-term performance makes it less appealing for owners wanting a comprehensive tracking ecosystem. This tracker is ideal for owners seeking a straightforward, cost-effective solution with reliable GPS in a simple package.
Pros:- No monthly fees or SIM card required
- Real-time location tracking with route history
- IP68 waterproof and durable
- Secure, easy-to-attach design suitable for all dog sizes
Cons:- Battery life details are not specified, which may affect outdoor use
- Limited information on app capabilities and additional features
- No included subscription or cellular service

Our verdict“Ideal for owners who want reliable, fee-free GPS tracking without extra costs or complex features.”
Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, Gray, Large
This device offers real-time nationwide GPS tracking with no range limits, making it ideal for owners with large properties or frequent outdoor adventures. Its included 12-month service and membership make it a strong value upfront, but after that period, renewal costs can add up, similar to the Fi Series 3+ models. Its durable, waterproof design features night visibility, which helps owners keep track of their dogs in low-light conditions. The extensive health and behavior monitoring are added bonuses for owners wanting a comprehensive overview of their dog’s wellbeing, but the reliance on a subscription after the first year and the ecosystem’s compatibility constraints are notable drawbacks. This collar makes the most sense for active owners with a preference for nationwide coverage and durability.
Pros:- Real-time nationwide GPS tracking with no range limits
- Includes 12 months of service and membership
- Durable, waterproof with night visibility LED light
- Comprehensive health and behavior monitoring
Cons:- Subscription renewal required after 12 months, adding ongoing costs
- Limited to the Fi app ecosystem, which may not suit all users
- Potentially high cost for additional units or replacements
Best for: Active dog owners who need nationwide tracking and are comfortable with subscription renewals.
Not ideal for: Owners seeking a one-time purchase without future service costs or those with incompatible devices.
- Brand:Fi
- Model Number:FCB3
- Warranty:1 Year
- Waterproof Rating:IP68
- Includes:Charger, night LED, health monitoring
- Battery Life:12 months (with membership)
Our verdict“Best for owners seeking nationwide coverage with included service and durability, prepared for future subscription costs.”
GPS Collar for Dogs, Pet Tracker (Android Only) Waterproof Smart Tag with No Monthly Fees
This lightweight, waterproof tracker is perfect for Android owners who prefer a straightforward GPS solution without monthly fees. Unlike the Fi models, it relies on Google Find My, integrating seamlessly with existing Android devices, but this means iOS users are excluded, limiting flexibility. Its simplicity makes it suitable for small to large dogs, offering real-time tracking in outdoor environments. However, it’s limited to the Android ecosystem, and setup depends on a Google account, which might be a barrier for some owners. This device is a good choice for budget-conscious Android owners who want reliable GPS tracking without ongoing payments, though it sacrifices some advanced features and cross-platform compatibility.
Pros:- Waterproof and durable for outdoor use
- No monthly fees for real-time location tracking
- Compatible with Google Find My on Android devices
- Lightweight and comfortable for pets
Cons:- Android-only compatibility limits use with iOS devices
- Requires Google Find My account setup

Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, Blue, Large
This large, blue Fi Series 3+ collar offers real-time nationwide tracking with no range limits, making it ideal for owners with active or outdoor dogs. Its included 12-month service provides seamless coverage, but subsequent renewal costs could be a concern for budget-minded owners. The collar’s durable, waterproof build with night visibility LED light ensures visibility during low-light activities, and its health and activity monitoring features offer added value for owners wanting comprehensive insights. Compared with the gray model, this color option might appeal to those wanting a more vibrant look, but both are limited to the Fi app ecosystem, which could restrict flexibility. This collar is best for owners who need dependable nationwide tracking for active or adventure-loving dogs.

- Includes 12-month service and membership
- Durable, waterproof with night LED light
- Supports health and activity monitoring

Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, 6-Month Membership Included, Gray M
This model stands out for its real-time nationwide GPS tracking, which eliminates range limitations that other trackers like the Tractive often face, making it ideal for owners of highly active or outdoor dogs. Its inclusion of a 6-month membership at no extra cost provides significant value, especially compared to options that require ongoing subscription payments. The collar’s AI health monitoring and activity tracking add a layer of insight that benefits owners interested in overall well-being. However, the lack of specified battery life and limited size options mean it might not suit every dog or owner’s needs. The waterproof and night visibility features are effective for active, outdoor use, but the need to renew the subscription after 6 months can add to long-term costs.
Pros:- Real-time nationwide GPS tracking without range limits
- Includes 6 months of service free of charge
- Comprehensive health and activity monitoring with AI features
- Durable, waterproof design with night visibility LED
Cons:- Subscription renewal required after 6 months, adding ongoing cost
- Battery life details are not provided, which could affect usage planning

- Connectivity:Cellular and GPS
- Membership Duration:6 months
- Battery Life:Not specified
Our verdict“This collar is best suited for active families who need dependable, long-range location tracking combined with health insights.”
Tractive Smart Dog GPS Tracker with Virtual Fence and Vital Signs Monitoring
Compared with the Fi Series 3+ options, the Tractive Tracker excels in battery longevity, offering up to 14 days of use, which is ideal for owners seeking minimal maintenance. Its ability to monitor vital signs like heart and respiratory rates adds a health dimension that the Fi models only partially cover, providing early detection of potential issues. The unlimited range tracking is a major advantage for owners of dogs that roam large outdoor spaces. Its lightweight, waterproof design makes it suitable for active dogs, but the higher price point and limited details on app interface may deter some buyers.
Pros:- Up to 14 days of battery life reduces charging frequency
- Monitors vital signs for early health detection
- Unlimited range GPS tracking
- Lightweight, waterproof, and suitable for active lifestyles
Cons:- Limited details on app usability and subscription costs
Best for: Pet owners prioritizing long battery life and vital sign health monitoring, especially those with active or outdoor dogs.

Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, Pink, L
This pink, large-sized collar caters to owners seeking a stylish yet rugged GPS device, with the same core features as other Fi Series 3+ models. Its inclusion of a 6-month cellular and GPS membership makes it convenient for long-term tracking, and the waterproof, night visibility LED design ensures durability in outdoor conditions. It also offers AI health and behavior monitoring, similar to the Gray model, making it suitable for owners wanting comprehensive care. However, the price is not specified, which could make it less appealing to budget-conscious buyers, and the lack of detailed battery life information remains a concern. - Membership Duration:6 months
- Battery Life:Not specified
Our verdict“Ideal for style-conscious owners of large dogs who want durable, high-tech GPS with health tracking features.”
Fi Series 3+ GPS Dog Collar & Tracker, Gray, Large
Compared with the Pink Large model, the Gray Large collar emphasizes functionality over style, offering the same real-time GPS and health monitoring features. Its durable waterproof design and night visibility LED make it suitable for outdoor adventures, while the inclusion of a 6-month service membership adds value. The collar’s large size fits bigger dogs, but the lack of specific battery life details could be a drawback for long outings. The ongoing subscription renewal after 6 months remains a consideration for budget-conscious owners. Overall, it provides the core features needed for outdoor safety and health tracking but lacks some specifics on battery endurance.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Smart Dog Collars With Gps
Choosing the right smart dog collar with GPS involves more than just looking at features. You should consider how the device fits into your lifestyle, your budget, and your dog’s activity level. The following factors can help you make a more informed decision, avoiding common pitfalls like overpaying for unnecessary features or choosing a device that doesn’t suit your dog’s environment.Accuracy and Range
The primary purpose of a GPS collar is to reliably locate your dog. Look for collars with proven high accuracy and a strong signal, especially if your dog tends to roam in open spaces or dense terrain. Some models provide real-time updates, which are crucial for quick recovery if your dog escapes. Be cautious of devices that have limited range or rely on less reliable GPS signals, as this can lead to frustration or missed updates.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery longevity varies widely, from a few days to several weeks on a single charge. Longer battery life reduces the hassle of frequent recharging and ensures continuous tracking during extended outdoor adventures. Consider whether the collar’s charging process is straightforward or requires removing the device, as this impacts daily convenience. Devices with quick-charge features can also be a plus for busy owners.
Subscription Fees and Costs
Many GPS collars require ongoing subscription fees for cellular connectivity and data services. Some brands include free basic tracking with a one-time purchase, while others charge monthly or annual fees that can add up over time. Weigh the value of additional features like virtual fences or health monitoring against these recurring costs. Budgeting for these expenses upfront helps avoid surprises down the line.
Durability and Waterproofing
Active dogs or those who love water need a collar that can withstand the elements. Look for collars with high waterproof ratings and rugged construction to prevent damage from rain, mud, or swimming. While more durable models tend to be pricier, they offer peace of mind and longevity that can justify the investment, especially for outdoor pets.
Compatibility and Ecosystem Integration
Some collars sync with specific apps or ecosystems, such as Google Find My or proprietary platforms. Compatibility can streamline your experience, allowing you to monitor your dog conveniently from your existing devices. Conversely, choosing a collar that locks you into a particular app may limit flexibility if you want to switch devices or share access with others. Consider your tech preferences and ecosystem before making a choice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will a GPS collar work in remote or rural areas?
Yes, most reliable GPS collars use cellular networks to provide real-time location updates, but their effectiveness depends on signal coverage. In very remote or rural locations with poor cellular service, tracking accuracy may degrade or stop altogether. For such environments, consider collars with longer battery life and offline capabilities or those that use alternative signals like LTE or satellite options, though these tend to be more expensive.
Do GPS collars have to be charged daily?
Not necessarily. Battery life varies by model, with some lasting several days or even weeks between charges. Collars with extended battery life are ideal for long trips or outdoor activities, reducing the inconvenience of daily charging. However, for active or frequently lost dogs, more frequent charging may be necessary to ensure consistent tracking, especially if the device uses real-time GPS updates.
Are there collars suitable for small or very active dogs?
Absolutely. Many GPS collars are designed with adjustable straps and lightweight materials suited for small or active dogs. Look for models specifically marketed as lightweight or compact to prevent discomfort. Active dogs benefit from rugged, waterproof designs that can handle rough play or swimming, but be sure to check the weight limits and fit to ensure comfort and safety.
Can I use a GPS collar for multiple dogs?
Some systems allow multiple collars to be linked to a single app, making it easier to track your entire pack. However, not all brands support multiple devices under one account, so verify compatibility before purchasing. If managing multiple dogs, consider a collar with a user-friendly app that can handle several profiles simultaneously, as this simplifies monitoring and reduces confusion.
How secure is the data from GPS collars?
Data security varies by manufacturer; reputable brands encrypt location data and have privacy policies in place to protect your information. Always review the company’s privacy practices, especially if sharing sensitive location data. Using secure passwords and app permissions further enhances your dog’s safety, preventing unauthorized access or tracking hijacking.
Conclusion
For most owners, the Fi Series 3+ offers the best balance of accuracy, features, and ease of use, making it ideal as the overall top pick. Budget-conscious pet parents will find the GPS Tracker for Dogs and Cats with Real-Time Locator a practical choice, despite fewer premium features. Those seeking a premium, feature-rich device with virtual fences and health monitoring might prefer higher-end models like the Tractive GPS with Vital Signs. Beginners should focus on simple, waterproof designs with long battery life, while owners of active or water-loving dogs should prioritize rugged, waterproof options. Tailoring your choice to your specific needs ensures better safety and peace of mind.Cold & flu season Picks
